Jelly Roll‘s wife shouldn’t be tolerating any type of ailing speech about her husband.

Bunnie Xo didn’t hold back along with her selection of words as she slammed those that raised their voices against her husband for upholding and mentioning his faith on the 2026 Grammys.

Jelly Roll walked away from the Grammys on Sunday, February 1, with three awards for the books. He won the Best Contemporary Country Album category,  Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, didn’t mince her words when she spoke about those slamming her husband online for mentioning his faith on the Grammys. Her unfiltered words to them echo a transparent message, but her walk with God constrains her actions.

Jelly Roll, in his acceptance speech, said, “I wanna tell y’all without delay, Jesus is for everyone. Jesus shouldn’t be owned by one political party. Jesus shouldn’t be owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus, and everybody can have a relationship with him.”

The negative responses that followed on social media to the singer declaring his faith were horrific and sad, as per Bunnie Xo. She said throughout the Sunday, February 8, episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast that she had been seeing videos of individuals calling her husband “a performative Christian.”

The podcaster shifted focus to the girl who made the video spreading the claim, whose name remained undisclosed, calling her a “f-cking c-ckbag.” The country singer’s wife added:

“To start with, if I wasn’t attempting to walk with God, I’d find you and slap the sh-t out of you, lady. Due to your voice, the pitch was just a lot. It was like nails on a f-cking chalkboard. But I’m attempting to turn the opposite cheek and be higher. To me, in what world is it OK to ever query any individual’s walk with God?”

Before addressing the content creator who created an uproar in regards to the speech directly, Bunnie Xo explained that loads of people weaponize the bible and religion greater than they have a good time the name of Jesus, and this affects others’ decision to be Christians.

The podcaster delved into her personal experience with religion, sharing that she has an advanced relationship with it. Explaining further, she noted that because of the eye-opening experiences she had growing up, she didn’t need to be a Christian for years.

The negative experience of hypocrisy and backbiting amongst church members cemented her decision to part ways with the faith.

The entertainer also said that while her experience affected her decision to carry on to Christianity, the present happenings surrounding how her husband’s speech was received have also made a mark on her mind.

“Seeing all of those people online just tearing apart my husband’s walk of religion makes me not need to associate with that variety of Christianity,” the 46-year-old said.

Before the singer walked up on stage after he was announced the winner in one of the best contemporary country album category, he kissed his wife, then went to receive his golden gramophone, holding a Bible.

“To start with, Jesus, I hear you, and I’m listening, Lord! I’m listening, Lord,” he began, then went on to specific gratitude to his wife for her support, his record label, country radio, and Jesus for changing his life.

Jelly Roll gave more details about his past, revealing a time when he had only a radio and a Bible while behind bars.

TODAY shared the singer’s message, spreading his stance along with his faith. He said that music and God were the 2 forces that modified his life, and that he encouraged people to return to Jesus.

The daddy of two gave an open invitation to the audience before walking off stage. Chatting with reporters backstage, he shared his excitement for being a type of representation to many viewers.

Jelly Roll firmly maintained that, despite the happenings within the country, he wouldn’t join the league of artists who used the Grammy Awards as a platform to declare their political stance.

Many artists, while receiving their awards, spoke to the events occurring involving the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), however the singer washed his hands of the topic.

The musician cleared up backstage that he had no intention of giving his voice to the conversation, explaining that he doesn’t consider his opinion matters. As shared by The Blast, Jelly Roll expressed that he feels largely disconnected from politics and current events.

Still speaking on the topic, the Grammy winner shared that his disconnection from current events stems from an 18-month period when he didn’t have a phone, but that politics as a complete was not an everyday topic in his household growing up. 

“I didn’t even know politics were real until I used to be in my mid-20s in jail. That is how disconnected you might be once you grow up in a drug-addict household. We weren’t having conversations about rural politics. We were attempting to survive,” the singer said.

Even in his speech, the musician didn’t fail to credit his wife for helping him get back on his feet. He has previously spoken about her energetic contributions and efforts to assist him overcome his addiction problems.

Jelly Roll shared that he had been to jail about 40 times with a big selection of charges to his name, and he also detailed his struggle with drugs and other illicit substances to the purpose where Bunnie Xo needed to weed out friends who were influencing him negatively from his life.

The Blast reported that, out of the three awards the Nashville native walked home with, one was for the love of his life. Bunnie Xo told reporters that night that she was keeping one for herself, saying, “I feel like I deserve it.”

Her husband confirmed this on ET when he shared his plans for the golden gramophones, disclosing that one would go to the county jail to function an inspiration to the inmates.
