“Bosch: Start of Watch” is beginning to construct out its principal forged, with Ariana Guerra joining the series.
The “Bosch” prequel, which was picked as much as series at MGM+ in October 2025, will star Cameron Monaghan as a young Harry Bosch in his rookie days within the LAPD, while Omari Hardwick will play veteran officer Eli Bridges.
“Bosch: Start of Watch” will happen in 1991 Los Angeles. The official logline states, “The series will explore a city on the sting, teeming with racial tension, gang violence, and a fractured LAPD. Amid routine calls and growing unrest, Bosch finds himself drawn right into a high-profile heist and an online of criminal corruption that may test his loyalty to the badge and shape his future because the detective who lives by the code, ‘Everybody counts or no one counts.’”
Guerra will star as Rosa, who’s described as “a rookie LAPD officer and native Angeleno who brings unusual maturity and street smarts to the job. Raised within the neighborhoods she patrols, she represents a brand new generation of cops in a post-Rodney King city. Beneath her confidence is a deep insecurity – shaped by a young pregnancy, a failed first profession, and the pressure of providing for her child. During her probationary 12 months, a budding romance with Bosch threatens her credibility, forcing Rosa to prove she will finish what she starts.”
Guerra has previously starred in shows like “CSI: Vegas” at CBS, “Helstrom” at Hulu, and “Promised Land” at ABC. Her other TV credits include “Raising Dion,” “9-1-1,” and “Tracker.” Next up, she can be seen within the Netflix crime drama series “Nemesis.” Guerra has also been seen in movies like “Madres” and “Five Feet Apart.”
She is repped by Pakula King, Gartner Group Entertainment, and Goodman Genow.
“Bosch: Start of Watch” relies on Michael Connelly’s Det. Harry Bosch books, which spawned the unique series. Production will begin in Los Angeles later this 12 months.
Tom Bernardo (“Bosch,” “Bosch: Legacy”) and Brian Anthony (“Bosch: Legacy,” “FBI”) are the co-creators and executive producers on the series, with Bernardo also serving as showrunner. Connelly, Henrik Bastin, Jamie Boscardin Martin, and Jasmine Russ also function executive producers. Theresa Snider serves as co-executive producer for Hieronymus Pictures. Seth Yanklewitz is answerable for casting. Fabel Entertainment produces.
That is now the fourth series within the “Bosch” universe. Along with the unique Amazon Prime Video series, which ran for seven seasons, lead actor Titus Welliver led the spinoff “Bosch: Legacy” for 3 seasons. Most recently, the spinoff “Ballard” starring Maggie Q. as cold case detective Renée Ballard debuted on Amazon Prime Video in July and was renewed for a second season in early October.
