Arshdeep Singh is India’s highest wicket-taker in T20Is and throughout the Men in Blue’s second Group A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 against Namibia on Thursday (February 12) in Delhi, he can have a likelihood to develop into India’s highest wicket-taker within the T20 World Cup as well. If the 27-year-old left-arm fast bowler from Punjab, who led India’s fast bowling attack of their first match against the USA of America on February 7, manages to take at the least 4 wickets against the African team, then he’ll go past Ravichandran Ashwin’s tally and take the No. 1 position on the list of bowlers with essentially the most wickets for India within the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in December 2024, played 24 T20 World Cup matches for India and dismissed 32 batters.

Arshdeep, who made his T20I debut for India in July 2022 against England, played his first T20 World Cup match against Pakistan in Melbourne on February 23, 2022, and in that fixture, he picked up 3 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs.
Within the 2024 T20 World Cup, he played all eight matches for the Rohit Sharma-led side and accounted for the dismissal of 17 batters, which is a world record for taking essentially the most wickets in a single edition of the lads’s shortest format mega event.
