The case bears similarities to the threats made to Ranveer Singh and incidents linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, raising fears of a pattern emerging amongst these criminal activities.
Himanshi Khurana Receives Rs 10 Cr Extortion Threat Via Email
Himanshi Khurana is a widely known figure within the Punjabi entertainment industry. She filed a grievance with the Mohali police after receiving an extortion email. An FIR has been registered at Sohana police station. The threat email, received on her personal email ID, included a written message and an audio clip. Within the recording, a voice purportedly from a foreign-based gangster says, “Zeeshan Akhtar team ton bolde, tuade lai ik necessary message sada,” before demanding Rs 10 crore. As reported by PTI, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Saurav Jindal stated that the message was allegedly sent by a gangster based abroad. The investigations are ongoing to ascertain its origin.
Khurana and her family are said to be distressed by the incident, prompting police motion and immediate protection measures. In response to the grievance, authorities registered an FIR on Saturday at Sohana police station under sections 308(4) (extortion) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), they added.
Police officials are examining digital evidence to trace the origin of each the e-mail and the voice message. Also they are investigating references inside the threat to Zeeshan Akhtar. He is needed in reference to the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai in October 2024. Akhtar has links to rival gangs related to Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Rohit Godara. Nevertheless, the authorities haven’t yet confirmed any direct connection to Khurana’s case.
