Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has said that Mohammad Amir ‘just gets up and says anything’, as he slammed the latter for calling Abhishek Sharma a slogger, hours before the marquee India vs Pakistan clash on the T20 World Cup in Colombo on Sunday, February 15.

Amir, speaking on a chat show, claimed that Abhishek wasn’t a technically sound batter and might be dismissed with the best plans in place.

Amir faced criticism for his remarks but remained steadfast in his assessment, insisting that Abhishek struggles and has yet to be tested. But chatting with Vikrant Gupta on the Sports Tak YouTube channel, Harbhajan countered the claims, asserting that Abhishek is a whole batter able to executing every shot within the book.

“I mean, come on, what am I even speculated to say to that? He just gets up and says anything. If you happen to call him a slogger, then advantageous, let him smash sixes, but he’s a correct batter who has every shot within the book,” Harbhajan said.

“He (Abhishek) is a whole batter who knows where the ball is coming and plays. He plays the over-cover shot, hits through point. He can go long-on, long-off, midwicket; he has every shot,” Harbhajan added.

The previous Indian cricketer selected to not delay the controversy, stating that Abhishek has already established himself on the world stage. But Harbhajan signed off with a caution for Pakistan, warning that if Abhishek gets getting in Colombo, he can take the match away from them.

“If I start naming real sloggers, some people might get offended, but I don’t wish to create more drama. Still, calling anyone only a slogger like that, I don’t think it’s fair,” Harbhajan said.

“And just wait and watch tomorrow. If Abhishek stays on the crease, he’ll remind everyone who he’s. For the last 4–5 months, he has already been in your dreams. If he goes big tomorrow, then for the following six months, he will likely be in your dreams again,” Harbhajan added.
