Dustin Poirier open to clash against Nate Diaz as he responds to former UFC star’s callout

When Dustin Poirier announced his retirement from the UFC, it seemed as if it could possibly be short lived.

Ahead of his UFC 318 BMF title fight against Max Holloway, ‘The Diamond’ made it clear that it will be his final fight in the game following an incredible 32-fight UFC profession.

And after suffering a particularly dominant loss to ‘Blessed’, Dustin Poirier went through along with his emotional retirement, putting down his gloves in Recent Orleans.

Despite that, now slightly below a 12 months faraway from what was imagined to be his final fight in the game, the 37-year-old could possibly be scheduled to return to combat sports.

Poirier responds to Nate Diaz’s recent callout

Ever since his retirement from the UFC, Poirier has repeatedly hinted that he could be open to a return, as he’s consistently linked to fights against Justin Gaethje and even Conor McGregor.

Despite that, it was former UFC star Nate Diaz who recently named him as a part of his three-man hit list, with the 2 having been locked right into a rivalry for some years now without having fought contained in the cage.

Diaz recently claimed that he’s seeking to return to the premier MMA promotion to feature on the UFC White House event scheduled for June 14.

And this Monday afternoon, Poirier replied to Diaz’s callout on his Instagram story, saying: “Belt to ass, Nate Diaz.”

Following his reply to Diaz, Poirier shared a picture of him training his boxing along with his longtime boxing coach, Dyah Davis.

Poirier returned to training just a few days ago

Just just a few days ago, Poirier shared images online of him back in training at American Top Team, as he sparred against UFC lightweight contender, Mateusz Gamrot.

Even though it was unclear whether the 37-year-old was back within the gym simply to remain in shape, he’s seemingly still open to a return to the cage.

At this point, though, it remains to be unknown whether Dana White could be open to allowing Diaz back to the promotion, 4 years faraway from his exit.
