Spoiler alert. At the tip of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, there’s a post-credits scene that teases Amy Rose. Her appearance really isn’t a surprise, considering the films have now added Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow to the forged. It was just about inevitable that Amy Rose would join as well. In that post-credits scene, though, she didn’t say anything, and it seems that her voice had not been forged yet. Well, that honor now goes to Kristen Bell, who has voiced several iconic characters in film history, including Anna in Frozen.
The news is confirmed by Ben Schwartz, the Head of Sequels at Obsidian Entertainment. Sorry, I mean, the actor behind the voice of Sonic in the films. He posted a photograph on Instagram of Bell and himself, holding figurines of their respective characters. Bell joins a forged that already includes Keanu Reeves as Shadow, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessy as Tails. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently scheduled to reach in theaters on March 19, 2027.
It is sort of crazy to think how far the Sonic the Hedgehog movies have come since their disastrous initial debut, which now lives on in infamy because of Ugly Sonic’s appearance in Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. Somewhere, there may be a timeline where the unique movie didn’t get redone, completely flopped, and we never got the good sequels we now have. In actual fact, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 did so well that it’s in second place amongst game movies, behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It’ll likely fall to the third spot, though, considering The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is across the corner on April 1.
