Alan Shearer has provided us along with his latest round of Premier League predictions ahead of this weekend’s motion.
After Arsenal’s surprising midweek draw against bottom-of-the-table Wolves, the title race is now firmly back within the balance.
Mikel Arteta’s side now lead by just five points over Manchester City, who’ve a game in hand over the Gunners and may pile on the pressure with a victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.
Arsenal are then in motion on Sunday as they take the short trip to face arch-rivals Tottenham, who’re hoping for a bounce after the appointment of Igor Tudor.
Elsewhere, the race for the highest 4 continues to heat up, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in motion against Everton, Burnley and Nottingham Forest, respectively.
And at the opposite end of the table, West Ham can be trying to proceed their nice recent form at home to Bournemouth as they appear to climb out of the underside three.
As ever, England legend and Betfair ambassador Alan Shearer has revealed his Premier League predictions to Metro.

Aston Villa v Leeds

Leeds are tough to beat. The system tweak that Daniel Farke made just a few weeks back has been working and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is clearly a handful.
I still think if this game would have had been at Elland Road, I might need gone for a special consequence, but with it being at Villa Park and the expectation on Aston Villa, I feel Villa will win this one.
It’s a tricky one, because, with Spurs playing Arsenal, Spurs are at home and with the opposite teams playing as well, you’d much slightly be in Leeds’ position with the six points clear of the drop like they’re, but that may be worn out in per week.
Prediction – Aston Villa win
Brentford v Brighton
Brentford are very hard to beat. He’s done a remarkable job Keith Andrews has. Nonetheless, whatever happens between now and the tip of the season, they won’t want to change off they usually’re a tricky outfit. I feel they’ve got a little bit of aggression, they’ve got togetherness, they’ve got the pieces of skill that you simply need as well with big Thiago up front.
Brighton are very different. You’re feeling as if the manager is under pressure due to standards Brighton have set in previous seasons. I might expect Brentford to win this one.
I feel if Brighton were to be beaten this weekend he needs to be nervous about his job. There’s been some noise already they usually got booed off of their last home game and that’s only going to get louder if Brentford beat them, so I get that and understand it.
Prediction – Brentford win
Chelsea v Burnley

I worked the Hull v Chelsea game within the FA Cup and Chelsea were really impressive. It must have been loads more because they missed so many possibilities. But, they were really poor defensively against Leeds before that.
Burnley got their win against Palace then mad seven changes within the FA Cup and get dumped out of that which it’s tough to know, because they’ve not exactly got a great deal of fixtures, but Chelsea could have an excessive amount of for Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Burnley didn’t have any midweek game, but I assume Scott Parker can be attempting to take care of the squad and he’s trying to offer players minutes who perhaps haven’t played much this season, nevertheless it was a wierd one.
For Hull, making all those changes on the Friday evening, I get it, because they’re fourth, they usually’re going to attempt to get into the Premier League. But for Burnley, you’ve just had an awesome win, and also you’re not playing again for one more eight days. It was a surprise for me.
Prediction – Chelsea win
West Ham v Bournemouth
It is a tough one to predict. I’ll probably sit on the fence and go together with a draw on this one. You’ve got to offer West Ham and Nuno great credit because they were done, as we said, a month ago.
They were down and out but they’ve clawed their way back and Summerville is having an awesome time scoring goals. I am going back to my point that their form has probably cost two managers their jobs by way of them panicking In Forest and in Spurs, due to what West Ham have done. Bournemouth are in really good form, so I’m going to go for a draw on this one.
Prediction – Draw
Manchester City v Newcastle

Well, it’s going to be a minimum of 5 games that Newcastle play Man City this season, it could even be six, depending on what happens within the Champions League if Newcastle were to get through the round of 16 in addition to Man City, then they might meet one another again, but five times guaranteed with the draw within the FA Cup.
I mean, with Newcastle’s form on the Etihad, it’d take a brave man to predict anything aside from a Man City win. As much because it hurts me, probably due to that, Man City.
Newcastle are going to be filled with confidence off the back of three immediately wins. But it surely hasn’t helped that Man City have had a free week and Newcastle had a protracted journey on a Wednesday once they’re playing on a Saturday night. So, yeah, it’s an enormous ask for Newcastle, but they’re in good form away from home.
I just have a look at their record at Manchester City and it’s dreadful. So, it’d take a brave man to predict anything aside from a City win.
City can be raring to go for this. I mean, there’s little question that they’d have watched the Arsenal game. Pep would have watched the Arsenal game and now they’ve now got to go and put the pressure back on. They play before Arsenal this weekend again, so, it’s their turn to place the pressure back onto Arsenal for his or her game on Sunday.
Prediction – Manchester City win
Crystal Palace v Wolves
It was a poor result for Palace at home to Burnley. It really was a shocking result. They’ve had just a few. Within the FA Cup as well, that they had a poor result. I feel Crystal Palace are probably a lot looking forward to the tip of the season, for obvious reasons, to type of regroup and type the manager’s situation out and to usher in one or two players.
It’s been a tricky season which looked very promising initially, and particularly after what happened last season with the FA Cup and the Community Shield and all that stuff.
Having said that, they’re playing Wolves, and I do know that they had a great result against Arsenal but I’m going to go together with a house win for Palace.
Prediction – Crystal Palace win
Nottingham Forest v Liverpool

Nottingham Forest have a change of manager and it was an enormous decision which kind of got here out of the blue. But I feel Liverpool look as in the event that they’ve got some type of normality back, so I’ll go for an away win.
I feel it’ll be between Nottingham Forest and West Ham for who does take that third relegation place. I don’t see Forest getting anything this weekend. I feel they’ll make it tough but not have enough on the day.
I feel, as Arsenal found it tough, City found it tough there as well, and Liverpool will as well because I feel Vitor Pereira will get an awesome reception and the City Ground can be rocking. Nonetheless, I feel the shape that Liverpool are in, they’ll just have an excessive amount of.
Prediction – Liverpool win
Sunderland v Fulham
I mean, Sunderland as I said, we’ve said it so again and again their home record is good. I do know that record went against Liverpool, where I assumed Liverpool were superb going there and battling the best way they did. But I feel they’ll get back to winning ways at home against Fulham.
I feel, due to how they’re playing and the whole lot else that goes together with them, then yeah, Sunderland for the three points.
Prediction – Sunderland win
Tottenham v Arsenal
Arsenal should win the sport. I mean, it’s pretty easy. It might be a disaster in the event that they didn’t, they usually’re not in great form, losing a 2-0 lead in the best way they did against Wolves, they go into it under huge pressure. It would even be more if City beat Newcastle on Saturday night.
But Spurs give me no confidence, even with the brand new manager bounce, that they’d hope that they’re going to get so I’m going to say an Arsenal away win.
Prediction – Arsenal win
Everton v Manchester United
It’s a tricky one, but I feel the atmosphere can be amazing and it’ll be tough for Man United regardless the nice the nice form they’re in. I feel I’m going to say a draw.
Prediction – Draw
