Indian spinner Rahul Chahar on Friday confirmed his divorce from his wife, Ishani Johar. The cricketer tied the knot in Goa on March 9, 2022. On February 20, he took to his official social media handle and shared the news on social media and said their marriage has ended after completing all legal formalities.

Chahar spoke in regards to the last fifteen months, which he described as a difficult period spent attending court hearings and learning patience, resilience and inner strength.

“To Whom It May Concern. I entered marriage at a young age. Before I fully understood myself. my value, or the life I actually wanted to construct. What followed were years of lessons I never expected, and the last fifteen months spent navigating courtrooms, learning patience, resilience, and the strength that some find in reality,” Chahar wrote on Instagram.

He said the wedding has now come to an end after the legal process was accomplished. Chahar added that he’s closing this chapter with clarity, not anger.

“Today, that chapter of my life formally involves an in depth. After due legal process, the matter has been settled with my resolution, which cost lots, bringing finality to this phase of my life. I close this chapter not with anger or regret. but with clarity. Some relationships should not meant to last without end — they are supposed to awaken us. teach us, and transform us,” the post added.

Chahar said he’s moving ahead with greater self-awareness and hopes to construct a peaceful and respectful life.

“I move forward wiser, more self-aware, and certain of the life I should construct. This will not be an ending. It’s a release. A reset. A promise that every part I create from here will stand on self-respect and peace. and higher decisions. I carry forward no bitterness — only lessons, dignity, and the courage to start again. Sincerely, Rahul Chahar,” he concluded.

Chahar, who made his international debut in 2019, has played one ODI and 6 T20Is for India. His last appearance for the national team was in November 2021. He was also a part of India’s squad within the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Within the IPL, Chahar will represent the Chennai Super Kings within the 2026 season. The five-time champions will hope the leg-spinner adds to his tally of 75 IPL wickets.
