Apparently, Insomniac’s Wolverine Will Be a PS5 Exclusive and Is Planned to Be Released in September

Insomniac Games has released a teaser trailer formally announcing the launch of Marvel’s Wolverine, which looks to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. It’s been roughly five years since Insomniac Games revealed it was developing a game on the favored X-Men character, and after having an early construct and trailer leaked following an information breach a few years ago, it looks like Logan is finally able to unleash his rage on those that’ve crossed his path on September 15.

“As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to chop through the mystery of the person he was once.”

– Insomniac Games

“From Insomniac Games, the developers of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, comes Marvel’s Wolverine, an all-new tackle an iconic character based on Marvel comics.”

– Insomniac Games

It shouldn’t come as an excessive amount of of a surprise that Wolverine is simply being announced for the PlayStation 5, for now, as Insomniac’s previous Marvel Games projects, Spider-Man 1-2, Miles Morales, all began as exclusives before their eventual PC releases followed. Nonetheless, unlike those previous games, Wolverine appears to be a way more bloody and graphic game than your friendly neighborhood variety, as might be seen on this gameplay trailer from last fall. Fans of the character should be pleased about not having to address a cut-down, censored version, as sometimes portrayed in other media.

“Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel’s Wolverine arrives on PlayStation®5 consoles Fall 2026.”

– Insomniac Games

For now, the official Sony store page only has basic information regarding the sport, but those interested can wishlist it there, and with a bit of luck, PC users won’t need to wait too long for a release.
