The Gunners were pegged back within the second half within the recent draws with Brentford and Wolves and threatened to do the identical against Chelsea.

‘Chelsea, once they went right down to 10 men, they began to play. It was worrying,’ Wright said on Premier League Productions.

‘Arsenal showing those nerves, those jittery nerves on the latter stags of games, they should take the opportunities earlier on so that they can calm down at this stage.

‘They should just win now, especially the house games. It’s not going to be something that instils you with a great deal of confidence however it’s a win.

‘We’re seeing within the second half of games, you may get at Arsenal. Chelsea had 10 men there, it might be nice to seek out out what’s happening to Arsenal within the second half.

‘It comes right down to “you get the job done”, I’m completely happy the job is completed, but I’m going to be nervous for the subsequent game because I’m seeing that again within the second half.’

Ex-Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle also saw Chelsea look almost more threatening after Neto’s red card.

‘Overall when Chelsea went right down to 10 they almost relaxed,’ he said. ‘They began to actually play.

‘After they scored they began to manage the sport. Chelsea began to have a little bit of swagger about them and deserved some extent out of the sport. David Raya has made some great saves.’

Arteta also wanted Arsenal to indicate more control after Chelsea went right down to ten men but highlighted the Blues’ ‘immense quality’ as a reason that didn’t occur.

‘I’m very, very completely happy,’ he said. ‘The players made an incredible performance as well and put a lot into the sport.

‘After the nice victory against Spurs, this could be even one other level of difficulty. Against 10 men, I expected a special game but take a look at the standard on the pitch – immense.

‘Set-pieces are still those that made the difference. They’re so good at that, and we’re so good at that as well.’
