Arman Tsarukyan has claimed that Georgio Poullas hasn’t paid up on his pre-fight bet.
This past Saturday, the UFC lightweight primary contender returned to competition when he competed on RAF06 against Georgio Poullas.
After picking up the choice win, the Armenian sparked an enormous post-match brawl with Poullas, punching him, which led to each of their teams clashing in a melee.
And now just a couple of days faraway from his brawl, Arman Tsarukyan has explained what sparked it, in addition to claiming that Poullas hasn’t paid up on his pre-fight bet.
Arman Tsarukyan: Poullas planned to antagonise him during wrestling match
Prior to now, the 29-year-old has admitted that sometimes, he cannot control his anger which frequently results in outbursts.
These outbursts have affected his position within the UFC, and he continues to pay the worth for that. And he believes that Poullas planned to antagonise him during their wrestling match, not wanting to play by the principles.
“His game plan was to simply fight in the course of the fight and make hype, he wanted to do this since the actual wrestling, natural wrestlers never do this since it’s disrespectful and the referee can catch you out,” Tsarukyan told The Ariel Helwani Show.
“He punched me two times, one time he got a warning… Yeah (he went in there simply to make a moment), he knew he needed to stop wrestling because he was losing, second of all because he cannot beat me.”
Ahead of their wrestling match, Tsarukyan and Poullas seemingly wagered a bet with one another, with the winner benefitting from $10,000. Despite that, although he won the match, Tsarukyan hasn’t been paid by his opponent.
“If he lose, he needed to pay me because we had a (bet), whoever wins gets money. It was presupposed to be, he got here and said, ‘Let’s do, if I win you pay me $50,000, in case you win, you get $25,000’, I said, ‘Are you silly or what?’
“I told him we have now different pay so let’s stay at $10,000 and we shook hands but I haven’t seen my money yet,” he continued.
Arman Tsarukyan set to return sooner slightly than later
Whilst still waiting for his next steps within the UFC, the Armenian is attempting to keep lively by competing in numerous promotions.
And the 29-year-old isn’t waiting around for his next outing as he is ready to headline Hype FC in Brazil in only 10 days.
Despite that, he continues to be without an opponent, nevertheless, Hype FC are currently in talks with Poullas for a possible rematch in grappling versus wrestling.
