The IPL Governing Council has reportedly cleared the schedule for the primary half of the upcoming season with the announcement expected later this week.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council reportedly met online on Monday and decided to release the schedule for the upcoming season in two phases, as it’s going to coincide with Assembly elections in multiple states. Based on a report, the Governing Council has cleared the primary half of the schedule, which is predicted to be revealed on March 6 or 7.
As per Cricbuzz, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the defending IPL champions, will kick off the nineteenth season, likely on the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Nonetheless, it is just not yet clear who their opponent can be within the season opener.
Moreover, the beginning of the season is predicted to be postponed by a couple of days. Earlier reports suggested that IPL 2026 could begin on March 26, nevertheless it is now more likely to start on March 28 or 29.
The ultimate of the tournament can be played on May 31.
Based on the publication, the ten franchises have been informed by the Governing Council that it’s awaiting the Election Commission’s announcement of polling dates for the State Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu. This has led to the delay in finalising the schedule.
RCB to Play Five Matches at Chinnaswamy
On Tuesday, RCB confirmed that they may play five of their seven home games on the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, ending months of uncertainty. Within the wake of the tragic stampede outside the venue during RCB’s IPL victory parade, the stadium got here under serious scrutiny.
