Former UFC champion Holly Holm books boxing world title rematch following disappointing loss

Holly Holm will return to the ring for a 3rd time since departing the UFC in 2025.

In June of last 12 months, Holm dominated Yolanda Vega to announce her return to boxing after 12 years away from the game that she initially made her name in.

This move also saw the previous UFC bantamweight champion go from working alongside Dana White to having Jake Paul as her promoter.

Her partnership with Most Helpful Promotions led to Holm receiving a world title shot earlier this 12 months that didn’t go to plan, with a rematch now being officially set.

At a press conference on Friday, Most Helpful Promotions announced that Stephanie Han will defend her WBA lightweight title against Holly Holm on May 30.

Han defeated Holm earlier this 12 months in a fight that was stopped within the seventh round on account of the champion suffering a cut on her hairline on account of an accidental head clash.

Fortunately for the defending titleholder, she was clearly ahead on the scorecards on the time of the fight being waved off, with scorecards of 69-65, 69-64, and 68-65, declaring her the victor.

The bout was Holm’s first boxing world title fight since she defeated Mary McGee in 2013 to successfully defend her IBA and WBF female light welterweight titles.

She went on to debut contained in the Octagon two years later, producing a three-fight win streak in 2015 that ended along with her knocking out Ronda Rousey to win the bantamweight title.

The press conference also saw the promotion announce a brand new long-term partnership with ESPN that can bring boxing back to the sports giant.

Han vs Holm 2 will happen at MVP 03, continue to exist ESPN, from El Paso, Texas, the defending champion’s hometown where she also works as a police officer.
