Former WWE Champion Reveals Her Axed ‘Character’ That ‘Smokes Cigarettes’

There isn’t any denying that former WWE Women’s United States Champion, Chelsea Green, gives greater than 100% to her character. While fans love the SmackDown star’s current gimmick, she had a special idea before her return. Recently, she revealed an alternate character that fans would have gotten had plans fallen into place.

 Chelsea Green’s Alternative WWE Character

Speaking on the “Ghost of Hollywood” podcast, Green said, “We actually had this really cool grunge alternative character planned. We have now a creative genius, Rob Fee, who’s an LA guy and really much into the movie scene in LA. He works for WWE, and he helped me flesh out this character. I used to be going to be an LA girl from Silverlake. Grungy, smokes cigarettes. It was so cool and so different from who I’m because I do feel like I’m a nerd wrapped in a special package.”

“After I got here back they were like, ‘Actually, today, you’re not going to that. Today, you’re just going to be (you).’ I’m like, ‘Oh s***. Who am I? What’s me? I’m only a white girl from Canada who wears sparkles.’ I used to be panicking. I used to be about to go to the Royal Rumble, and I read on the shirtsheets, right before I used to be about to exit for the Royal Rumble, possibly two hours before my debut, that they’d talked about doing a Karen character for me.”

“‘This will not be what we had spoken about, but that is something I can do.’ I spoke to them and asked, ‘Can I just be in there for a record time?’ ‘Yeah, run in, and Rhea will toss you out.’ I checked out Rhea said, ‘If you happen to don’t get me out in record time, I’m going to be so upset with you.’ It was our funny thing. After I went in, we checked out one another like, ‘Let’s f****** go.’ She tossed me out, and I played up the Karen character. That snowballed into what it’s now.”

“That’s how I’m who I’m now. The camera got here on me after Rhea tossed me out, and I went into auto-pilot of who I believed this Karen character is perhaps. I didn’t really have time to flesh that out. Week by week, we built on that, and no person ever told me what they wanted out of it.”
