Harry Redknapp has dismissed his probabilities of returning to Tottenham and believes Spurs are actually favourites to be relegated from the Premier League.
Tottenham are actually only one point above the relegation zone following their 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Thursday evening.
The result has also left Igor Tudor with a record of three defeats in three games since replacing Thomas Frank as manager last month.
Within the aftermath of the loss to Palace, a piece of Spurs supporters have called on the club to bring back Redknapp for a second stint in charge however the 79-year-old, who has not managed since a 13-game spell at Birmingham City in 2017, will not be holding out much hope of a return.
‘4 or five weeks ago I actually couldn’t see Tottenham being involved in a relegation scrap,’ Redknapp told talkSPORT on Friday.
‘Every week has passed by it’s got worse. West Ham are actually playing thoroughly which is great, Forest picked up a giant point the opposite night, the one other side getting sucked in now’s Leeds, they’ve got sucked into that battle as well, I assumed they were clear because they’ve had an excellent season, played ever so well.
‘But Tottenham are bang in it now, should be truthful. They’re looking like they may even be favourites out the 4 to go, it’s that desperate.’

When asked about Tudor’s frank assessment of Spurs’ poor performances after their defeats, Redknapp replied: ‘I mean, I don’t know the person. He’s been around an extended time, he’s managed at top clubs. He looks a little bit of a tough nut, doesn’t he? He looks such as you wouldn’t wish to have a large number about with him, needless to say.
‘But I don’t know if that’s the approach. I feel that confidence obviously is low. They exit after they play at home, plainly they they’ve not performed and so they need a little bit of confidence. They need a little bit of belief within the team.
‘They give the impression of being to me like they need a arm round, have just a little chat individually with every player and get them get them on side and make them start believing, ‘look exit and as best you’ll be able to, try and luxuriate in playing football’, because in the mean time they do they do look a bundle of nerves. They really do look on edge, which is dangerous.
‘West Ham made a few signings, Summerville’s come back from injury and he’s absolutely flying, him and Bowen together within the side, they’ve got a centre-forward now. West Ham are beginning to imagine, their crowd are amazing, they’ll stick with them. I could see them getting themselves out of trouble. They did look dead and buried five weeks ago.

‘Forest are picking up one or two results, they got some decent players, they played three on the back the opposite night, looked physically strong, they’ll be difficult to beat.
‘Leeds don’t should be there, they’ve played thoroughly this yr, they’d a go in every game, the games you’ve watched where they’ve led and been pegged back last minute don’t appear to have gone their way. But I feel I feel Forest, you recognize, got every likelihood of staying up. So Tottenham are bang in it. There’s absolutely little doubt about that in the mean time.’
Asked if he would return to Tottenham in the event that they approached him, Redknapp replied: ‘In fact I’d should, wouldn’t I? Nevertheless it’s not going to occur.
‘No, I can’t see that occuring. I feel I’ll be at Cheltenham on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
‘Wednesday I’ve got a runner, Taurus Bay, he runs in the primary race on Wednesday. He’s got a likelihood, a 20/1 shot, it’s an open race but he’s got a shot.’
