England are all set to tackle India within the T20 World Cup semifinal on the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. Ahead of that, England captain Harry Brook said on Wednesday, stating that they don’t need a “perfect game” to go all the best way within the tournament as well.

“No, I don’t imagine that we’d like an ideal game to win the competition, to be honest,” Harry Brook replied when he was asked if England would want that flawless performance to beat Team India as well.

“The games that we’ve won have been nowhere near perfect and we’ve still managed to get the wins – convincingly in a few of them after which tight within the others. Nevertheless it’s just the unity that we’ve needed to find a way to get across the road, the idea that everyone’s shown throughout the games, and the calmness that we’ve had when the bowlers have stood at the highest of their mark,” he further added.

Harry Brook also said that playing a T20 World Cup semi-final against India was a “dream come true” for a lot of England players as well.

“It’s up there needless to say. It’s a dream come true for many of us to play in a World Cup semifinal against the house nation on a really iconic ground, so we’re all really looking forward to it. We’re obviously going into the sport very confident. We’re playing some good cricket. We haven’t quite played that perfect performance yet, and I feel prefer it’s just across the corner. Hopefully, it’s tomorrow (Thursday) night and we go on the market and just play with freedom, play brave, and look to take it to them as much as we will,” he shared.

“We don’t feel like we’re ever out of a game” – Harry Brook

Harry Brook didn’t hassle much concerning the poor type of former captain and opening batter Jos Buttler, who has had a poor run within the tournament, scoring just 62 runs in seven matches at 8.85 as well.

“You don’t should talk over with him an excessive amount of; leaving him alone might be one of the best thing to do. He’s been a powerhouse of a cricketer for a few years, as we’ve all seen. I’ve been asked this query 1000’s of times now. I just think there ought to be no reason to query why he’s within the team,” Harry Brook said.

“We’ve gone to Sri Lanka and we’ve won six games in a row against a subcontinent side who’re superb in their very own backyard. We’ve got lots of confidence playing on turning pitches. (Varun) Chakravarthy is probably the greatest bowlers on this planet and I’ll try my best to face him and rating as many runs as I can against him. We’ve got some superb spinners as well. Our spinners have bowled extremely well throughout this competition, and so they’ve (India) got to try to tackle that challenge as well,” Harry Brook again added.

Nonetheless, he hoped for an enormous individual performance too, saying that there has not been a single match within the competition up to now where his team has been completely outplayed.

“We don’t feel like we’re ever out of a game. All it takes is one among the highest seven to get an honest rating, or one among our 5 – 6 bowlers to have a tremendous time out there, and swiftly you’re walking away with a victory. That’s what we’ve done so well up to now. Everybody’s form of chipped in… that game against Latest Zealand – everybody had a component to play, whether with bat, ball or in the sphere. It’s definitely, up to now, been mainly team performances. But I feel like there’s an enormous individual performance to come back,” Harry Brook concluded.
