A travel influencer was accused of tone-deafness after saying he’s stranded while appearing to refuse to fly economy amid the Middle East crisis.
Aviation enthusiast Daniel Goz, who is understood for his travel channel Nonstop Dan, shared a video with over 1 million followers about his journey from Singapore to Europe.
In a video initially titled ‘There Are No Flights Left,’ Goz explained about his try to travel on the day when the US-Israel coalition began bombing Iran.
Goz said he was ‘stranded in Asia,’ Each day Mail reports.
Nonetheless, around halfway through the video, a graphic popped up showing upcoming flights, prompting him to confess ‘there are a couple of seats on some days in economy.’

Viewers reacted to the video, with many seeming flabbergasted why he wouldn’t ‘just fly economy.’
Users told him to ‘read the room’ while some accused the video of being ‘insensitive.’
One person joked: ‘My thoughts are with the premium passengers and people in peril of flying economy.’
For the reason that video was posted 4 days ago, it has attracted over 800 comments.
Goz reportedly shortened the video by greater than a minute and adjusted the title to ‘Tens of millions Of Travelers Are About To Be Stranded’ for the reason that backlash and mock.
The 28-year-old, who has amassed a loyal following online for his airline reviews, flying suggestions and points hacks, posted a comment pinned under the video in response to the criticism.
It says: ‘A number of you saying “just fly economy!” and I totally get that. The pricing example I show on screen within the video is economy (should’ve been clearer about that), and as you possibly can see there’s barely anything available for the subsequent two weeks.
‘The few remaining economy seats are going for $1500+ per person one-way and even those shall be booked up soon. I discussed premium cabins because that’s what this channel normally covers.
‘The larger point of this video, that global aviation capability has been massively disrupted and hundreds of thousands of travelers, families, students, people on work trips, will feel ripple effects, still stands. I hope it’s useful to those of you figuring this out. Stay protected everyone’
