Dana White explains why Jon Jones will not be fighting on the UFC White House card

Dana White claims Jon Jones was ‘never ever’ in contention for the UFC White House card.

In recent days, rumors about ‘Bones’ facing Alex Pereira on the June 14 card have been swirling.

Jon Jones added fuel to the hearth by claiming he was in negotiations to fight on the White House.

Dana White believes Jon Jones is retired

Fans were shocked by Jon Jones’ absence from the UFC White House card announcement, regardless that Dana White ruled out MMA’s best fighter several times.

The UFC CEO explained his stance during a press conference after Charles Oliveira’s BMF title win over Max Holloway.

“Never ever, which I told you guys 100,000 times, was Jon Jones remotely in my mind to fight on the White House,” White insisted.

“To begin with, I’ve told you why I wouldn’t do it. And number two, some guy with Meta glasses filmed him talking about his hips, that his hips are so bad. I don’t know when you saw that flag football game where he could barely run. Jon Jones, he retired due to his hips. The doctors say he must have a hip substitute.

“So, that on top of all the other reasons that I wouldn’t. The Jon Jones thing is bulls—.

“I’m not saying they weren’t talking to Jon Jones, or that Jon Jones wasn’t eager about the fight.

“What’s even crazier is Jon Jones got here out and was like, ‘I’m in negotiations without delay for the White House fight’, right after I had already sent a text to his lawyer saying, ‘never going to occur ever’.

White was then asked if it’s fair to say Jones is retired and that is the top of his UFC profession.

“Yes. Particularly reasonable,” he replied.
