On Colton Parayko not waiving to go to the Buffalo Sabres

Haley Taylor Simon: St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong on Colton Parayko not wanting to waive his no-trade clause to the Buffalo Sabres: “I respect when players invoke the best that they earn. We’ve asked players to waive it like Brayden Schenn.”

Armstrong added that he was disenchanted that the Parayko trade was leaked to media.

Andy Strickland: Blues GM Armstrong was adamant that the trade leaks, mainly the Parayko one, didn’t come from the Blues. He actually internally checked the phone records and it didn’t come from them.

The Simon Nemec, William Eklund speculation

Vinnie Parse: (The Hockey News – Blackhawks beat author)The San Jose Sharks dangled William Eklund to attempt to get Simon Nemec, however the Recent Jersey Devils said no ultimately.”

Max Miller: San Jose Sharks G Mike Grier on how much they went after Recent Jersey Devils defenseman Simon Nemec: “That wasn’t really, I feel that was more sort of, I don’t know, Twitter stuff or whatever, whatever it’s. It’s somewhere you you sort of call and see if someone’s is out there, after which see what the asking price is. And that was really in regards to the extent of it.”

Jim Biringer: From the folks that spoke with, Eklund wasn’t on the table for Nemec. Now, different people hear various things, but heard that this was not talked about.

Mike Morreale: Devils GM Fitzgerald on defenseman Simon Nemec’s future: “That’s something we’ll undergo when the season ends and see where his head’s at. How does he see his future with what now we have here already, where he matches, does he like Recent Jersey? What’s his thoughts? I’ll undergo that together with his (latest) agent.”
