Out-of-favour Pakistani batter Ahmed Shehzad has made a daring claim about young Pakistani top-order batter Saim Ayub. In line with Shehzad, Saim, who played five matches for the Men in Green within the T20 World Cup 2026, is a component of Pakistan’s men’s cricket team because many high-profile people within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) like him rather a lot.

While speaking on Pakistan’s Haarna Mana Hai show, when asked if it is feasible to play for Pakistan with none advice, Shehzad said, “In fact, there are not any two opinions on this you could come with none advice or bribe. But there may be a saying ki aap aa toh jaate ho par waha rehna mushkil ho jaata hai (that for those who come, it becomes difficult to remain there).”

In line with Shehzad, if a player doesn’t have a backing, then it becomes difficult for him to get many probabilities. He explained his point by giving the instance of Ayub, who, as per him, is playing due to the Karachi factor.

So, while you start saying such things to a child, then that’s what happens.”

23-year-old Saim has played 8 Tests, 17 ODIs and 67 T20I matches for Pakistan to this point. In 67 T20I matches, the left-handed batter from Karachi has only managed to attain 1298 runs. His batting average within the shortest format of the sport is 21.27. In 2025, he created an unwanted record of scoring 7 geese in a calendar 12 months in T20Is for Pakistan.
