Ex-WWE Star Clarifies ‘Blackballed From Wrestling’ Comments

EC3 says his recent comments about being “blackballed” from major wrestling promotions were taken out of context.

The previous TNA and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion recently appeared on the “WrestleShadow” podcast, where he discussed his final run with WWE and his standing with other top wrestling corporations. Throughout the conversation, EC3 joked that he’s “probably blackballed” from most major promotions because they couldn’t handle his “authentic truth.” He said,

“I’m also probably blackballed from most of them because people can’t handle my authentic truth, and that’s positive.”

EC3 later clarified his remarks on Twitter, stating that the comment was meant sarcastically and was not intended to be taken literally. In a carousel-style post, he pushed back on the best way the quote was reported and said he doesn’t actually imagine he’s been blackballed. He said,

“Should you imagine reporting like this, you’re re(dacted). I don’t imagine I’m blackballed. What I do imagine is that wrestling media still can’t grasp tone, context, or the difference between a sarcastic aside and a human being filing a grievance online. Built different. Obviously.”

He continued, “Blackballed? Please. The one thing my balls are is sunned. No. I actually have been ‘constructing.’ Quietly. Developing talent. Crafting Exodus Pro as a prestige independent. Working on a ‘creative conclusion’ to The Top 1% that can blow ‘wrestling brains loads.’ Blackballed implies someone has power over me. Name one.”

EC3 also listed other statements he has made publicly that he says were clearly tongue-in-cheek, including describing himself as “97% charisma and three% body fat” and calling himself the best living NWA Champion of all time.
