In keeping with reports by Tamil news channel Thanthi TV, the digital streaming rights for the film, which were reportedly valued at around Rs 120 crore, have fallen through as uncertainty across the film’s release continues. The OTT platform that had initially agreed to amass the rights is alleged to have withdrawn from the deal attributable to the prolonged delay and unresolved certification issues.

The film was originally slated for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival, but did not hit screens after it didn’t receive its censor certificate in time.
Reports suggest that objections raised over certain scenes led to the film being referred to a revising committee, triggering a legal and procedural process that has significantly delayed the project’s release timeline. The prolonged uncertainty has reportedly impacted not only its theatrical plans but in addition its digital distribution prospects.
