Jon Jones has had a front-row seat for the beginning of Gable Steveson’s mixed martial arts profession.
The 2020 Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling transitioned to MMA after transient American football and WWE ventures.
With the legendary Jones coaching Steveson, the 25-year-old has gone 3-0 contained in the cage to this point, with every win coming via knockout in the primary round.
Steveson’s latest triumph didn’t come without adversity, nonetheless, but the previous UFC heavyweight and light-weight heavyweight champion said every part went in line with plan.

Recent footage reveals Jon Jones’ positive response to Gable Steveson’s win
A brand new film recently released by Uncrowned follows Steveson before and after his third MMA win under the Mexico Fight League banner in February.
The footage included Jones’ response to Steveson overcoming a brutal spinning head kick to secure one other quick victory within the cage.
While some have been concerned that the highly touted wrestler got caught so badly against low-level opposition, Jones told Steveson that they accepted the fight for that exact test.
“That child gave you exactly (what) we got here (here for). Your first fight,” Jones said.
“And he couldn’t make it out of 1 round.”
Steveson’s head coach, Greg Jackson, shared the same sentiment backstage.
“I used to be super happy with Gable’s fight. Gable really showed tonight that he’s going to be great,” Jackson said.
“There have been several questions that we got answered. What’s he gonna do when he gets hit? That was the large one… Gable took a spinning heel kick to the jaw and (shrugged it off).”

Gable Steveson might have been on the UFC White House card
While Steveson has been on a charge in the game, he’ll already have to take a detour from his original plans for 2026.
In the beginning of the yr, Steveson laid out his ideal MMA scenario, which included one or two more wins before a grand entrance to the UFC stage on the White House.
But while Ariel Helwani is reporting that discussions took place regarding his debut joining the celebratory card on June 14, the booking ultimately didn’t come to fruition.
With that in mind, Steveson stays outside of the UFC in the meanwhile. But it surely is evident that the undefeated prospect has caught the promotion’s attention, and it likely won’t be long until the heavyweight division has a much-needed addition.
