Unexpected star Hunter Johnson has been ordered by the court to stay awake over at girlfriend Bella Vaughn’s home.
In accordance with court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Hunter’s father, Casey Johnson, filed for full custody of his son, now 14, in April 2025. Casey claimed that Hunter’s mom, Stacie Riddle, created an “unstable and unwholesome environment.”
Seven months later, Casey was awarded temporary joint custody of Hunter after she asked the court to dismiss his bid for full custody. The judge also ruled in November 2025 that Hunter would not be allowed to “live with” Bella, 15, and her family, or have the option to remain over at her house, per his father’s request to the court.
“Neither party shall allow the minor child to remain overnight at a romantic partner’s house,” the temporary custody order states. (The exes’ court battle stays ongoing.)

Hunter and Bella’s relationship has been featured on season 7 of the TLC series as they equipped to welcome son Wes who was reportedly born in March 2025. On the show, the pair have navigated disagreements with their respective relations over Bella’s pregnancy and Hunter’s grades at school as they prepare to grow to be parents. The pair have made headlines on account of their young age.
In the course of the February premiere, Hunter revealed that his father had a powerful response to Bella’s pregnancy news.
“He said I ruined my life,” Hunter said of Casey in a confessional. “I don’t feel like I ruined my life.”
Meanwhile, Bella’s parents, Kris Vaughn and Falen Vaughn, took to social media to react to their daughter’s controversial pregnancy.
“I just wanted to return on here and make a fast video,” Kris shared in a January TikTok video. “On account of all of the trolls and the ladies quickly being generally known as what I actually have to say on TV because the unscrewables, they’ll make season 7 hot. It’s going to be a hot season. All they’re doing is making us the celebs of the show and I got to inform y’all, my royalty check goes to be so fat.”
Ahead of giving birth, Bella revealed in a January TikTok video that her boyfriend was 12 years old once they conceived their son. Bella claimed that Hunter turned 13 a couple of days after conception.
“I understand it doesn’t make it any higher. I understand he was sexually ready faster than I used to be, and that’s OK, but I used to be ready after we had sex,” she said within the video. “You possibly can all stop saying that it was illegal and that I raped him because I didn’t. It was each intentional. On either side, people have already said that. We’ve already talked to the cops about it. It was consensual.”
Bella continued, “I didn’t spoil Hunter’s life. I gave, once I found that I used to be pregnant, I gave him the choice. I said, ‘In the event you can’t do that otherwise you don’t wish to be here, that’s advantageous. I understand we’re each very young, but I can do that by myself or with you. It’s your decision. Whatever you select, I’m advantageous with.’ He selected to stick with me. He selected to care for our baby.”
