Colby Covington has insisted that Bo Nickal must move down in weight if he desires to fight him.
When the UFC White House event was officially announced a couple of weeks ago, there was no surprise to see Bo Nickal on the historic card.
Nevertheless, probably the most surprising part was that the 30-year-old will tackle Kyle Daukaus, who’s on his second run within the UFC after being cut in 2022.
Despite that, not long after his fight was announced, Nickal told Colby Covington and his team to force the UFC into changing the matchup.
Covington tells Nickal to maneuver all the way down to 170lbs for fight
‘Chaos’ and Nickal have an ongoing feud which stemmed from them each recently competing on the identical Real American Freestyle Wrestling event and that led to Nickal calling Covington out for a fight on the White House event.
And although that fight didn’t come to fruition, the previous UFC interim welterweight champion has told Nickal what he must do to attempt to secure a fight against him.
“Alright Bozo, I do know you’re a giant fan of weight classes and refused to wrestle a 50-year-old man who was 6lbs too heavy,” he said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“You won’t stop talking about us being the identical weight, which is truthfully refreshing to listen to because I’m 190lbs at once and can weigh 170lbs with out a problem on a full camp.
“So if we’re the identical weight such as you claim, which means you’re 190lbs at once and a full camp should get you all the way down to 170lbs as well. I propose we do that in a weight class where one among us is ranked and there’s actual stakes.
“So how about bring that silly ginger bowl cut all the way down to 170lbs Lloyd Christmas, and I’ll grant you your want to fight the largest name within the welterweight division… But let’s be crystal clear, I won’t take away the chance from someone who, unlike you, has done things the hard option to earn a spot on a giant card like Kyle Daukaus.”
One way or the other, despite having not scored a win within the UFC since 2022, Covington remains to be ranked in the highest 15 at welterweight.
Although Nickal was hopeful of fighting Covington on the White House card, the 38-year-old shouldn’t be willing to take the chance away from Daukaus, despite having desired to compete on the historic event.
Actually, Covington recently took aim on the UFC, claiming that they ‘don’t care anymore’, questioning their desire to make big fights in the game.
