Former captain Rohit Sharma was seen sharing a lightweight moment with Jay Shah, the chairman of the International Cricket Council, as India celebrated their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 victory. The Men in Blue defeated Latest Zealand by 96 runs in the ultimate on Sunday, March 8, in Ahmedabad.
Each Rohit Sharma and Jay Shah were present on the Narendra Modi Stadium for the massive match. Because the Indian players walked across the ground celebrating their win, Rohit and Jay Shah were seen walking behind them. Rohit playfully held Shah’s hand and lifted it up while pointing towards him.
The 2 were laughing and clearly having fun with the moment. They kept smiling as they walked along the boundary line, joining the celebrations after India made history by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Watch the video here:

Batting first, India put up an enormous rating of 255/5, with half-centuries from Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan. They then bowled out Latest Zealand national cricket team for 159 in 19 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah was the most effective bowler for India with 4 wickets, while Axar Patel took three. Rohit Sharma also served because the ICC Brand Ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Suryakumar Yadav Matches Feat Of Rohit Sharma And MS Dhoni
Suryakumar Yadav became the third Indian captain to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, joining Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni. India first won the tournament within the inaugural 2007 edition under Dhoni. The Men in Blue defeated Pakistan national cricket team by five runs in an exhilarating final in Johannesburg.
India got here near winning the title again in 2014 but lost the ultimate to Sri Lanka national cricket team. They finally won their second T20 World Cup after 17 years in 2024, when Rohit Sharma led the team to victory against South Africa national cricket team by seven runs in the ultimate at Bridgetown.
With their latest win, India also became the primary team to win back-to-back ICC Men’s T20 World Cuptitles, successfully defend their trophy, and develop into the primary host nation to win the tournament. This made the victory much more historic and memorable.
