In February 2025, WWE released the Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) for the second time, ending their run as a part of Karrion Kross’ Final Testament faction. Prior to their departure, the group had already been off television for several months.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Rezar reflected on an incident involving the Wyatt Sicks that he believes can have contributed to their exit. He described a situation during a vacation tour where a member of the opposing team attempted to alter the match on the fly — something he viewed as highly unprofessional. Rezar explained that calling an audible mid-match, especially by someone relatively latest in comparison with veterans, crossed a line for him. He said,
“There was an incident, very unprofessional from one among those guys, I don’t know their names. I don’t wish to go into it too deeply. There was an incident on one among the vacation tours that we did. Any person tried to modify up the match throughout the match and that’s only a no go for me, especially should you’ve just been in the corporate for just a little bit and we were already there for a very long time. You don’t try this. I just needed to let any individual know and that was the top of it.”
“They tried to modify up the match in the midst of the match. I’m knowledgeable. Even when I even have to take a beating within the wrestling ring, I do it, and should you’re going to be a scared little b**** then it’s not my fault. I’ll let you already know backstage.”
“It was certain moves that we did. Among the guys, they didn’t wish to take it because we’re big guys. If we lift you up and double spinebuster any individual five days in a row, then the sixth night, any individual can complain, but don’t change it throughout the match.”
When asked if the argument backstage was the top of it, he said, “Yes. It happened. I’m okay with it.”
Since his WWE release, Rezar has transitioned into bare-knuckle fighting and made a right away impact, scoring a knockout victory in his debut.
