Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke Song Controversy: KD The Devil Director Prem’s Wife Compares Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt’s Track To Choli Ke Peeche, Peelings

The song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from director Prem’s upcoming Kannada film, KD: The Devil, has sparked controversy over its suggestive lyrics. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the song has come under scrutiny for its provocative content. The film is written and directed by Prem, and his wife, former actress Rakshita, has now broken her silence on the matter, questioning why there’s such selective outrage over this song.

Director Prem’s Wife REACTS To Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke Song Controversy

Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories, Rakshita expressed her confusion: “Yes, I’ve seen all of it. I do know you’re tagging me in random posts. The very fact is, I do know what’s written and what’s happening. My stance on whether I support it or not doesn’t matter. When songs like Peelings, Dreamum Wakeupum, or Choli ke Peeche and a whole lot of others got here out, it seemed acceptable. When movies talk openly about s*xual acts throughout, it seemed advantageous. But one song causes an enormous uproar. I’m not justifying anything, I’m asking to know this.”

She further clarified that questioning the songwriter’s entire body of labor based on one song is unfair. “One song doesn’t make him a horrible author or someone who only does gimmicks. If some movies don’t perform well, that doesn’t make him a nasty filmmaker. Do you’ve the suitable to query him? Yes. Do you’ve the suitable to ask why? Yes. Do you’ve the suitable to ab*se him or spit on him? No, absolutely not. When people do this, it’s just incorrect.”

About The Controversy

The opening verse of “Sarke Chunar” features double entendre with graphic references to sex. The song was released in multiple languages—Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada—by Anand Audio, the film’s official music partner. The Hindi version has since been taken down from YouTube.

Over the past few days, the song has drawn criticism from the All Indian Cine Employees Association (AICWA), actress Kangana Ranaut, and singer Armaan Malik, amongst others, who’ve condemned its objectionable lyrics. ANI reported that a lawyer has filed a petition with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in search of a right away ban and removal of the song, citing concerns that its lyrics and visuals are obscene and potentially harmful to minors. Moreover, a criminal criticism has been lodged with the Delhi Police Cyber Cell regarding the song.

KD: The Devil is scheduled to release in theatres on April 30.
