Whoopi Goldberg is getting candid about her sex life at age 70.
“I bar hop, I am going hang,” Goldberg quipped through the Wednesday, March 18, episode of The View after the roundtable discussed a recent Cosmopolitan article a couple of woman who fantasized about being single despite being in a “blissful” long-term relationship.
In accordance with Goldberg, the article’s essayist lamented about missing her “days of casual flings and bar-hopping.”
Joy Behar, for her part, chimed in to ask whether Goldberg herself missed “those days.”
“I’m single,” Goldberg quipped. “I do hit and runs when I want it, but I’m not married to anybody [and] I don’t have responsibilities.”
Turning the query to her married peers on the table, Goldberg desired to know whether the opposite View hosts missed single life.
“I do, not the hassle of a fling or a bar-hop, but a binge where I can sit and eat an ice cream and nobody’s watching,” Sara Haines admitted. “I can watch whatever I rattling want [or tell] one single person where I’m entering into my day. It’s more to [do] the responsibilities [than] the singlehood because singlehood sounds exhausting in case you’re on the lookout for someone — but the only life was so lovely. I like being the middle of my very own world.”
Goldberg, for her part, has been married thrice: to Alvin Martin from 1973 to 1979, David Claessen from 1986 to 1988, and Lyle Trachtenberg from 1994 to 1995. (Goldberg and Martin share 52-year-old daughter Alexandrea.)
Within the years since her third divorce, Goldberg has been candid about not seeking to walk down the aisle for a fourth time.
“I’m much happier by myself,” the EGOT winner told The Recent York Times in a 2016 profile. “I can spend as much time with anyone as I need to spend, but I’m not seeking to be with anyone without end or live with someone. I don’t want anyone in my house.”
While Goldberg doesn’t want one other husband, that doesn’t mean her sex life is over.
“Should you don’t need a relationship, find anyone who doesn’t mind a hit-and-run with you,” Goldberg said during an October 2015 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sentiments she echoed nearly a decade later.
During a December 2025 episode of The View, Goldberg once more discussed her affinity for “hit and run” sex.
“I like a success and run because I’m not fascinated about a committed relationship,” she said on the time, which she described as an informal hookup with a partner.
