Arne Slot has provided an injury update on Mohamed Salah ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.
Salah was on the scoresheet in midweek as Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win over Galatasaray to book their spot within the Champions League quarter-finals.
But it surely was not all excellent news for Salah on the night, with the Egyptian forward forced off with quarter-hour remaining at Anfield.
Afterwards, Slot confirmed that Salah had requested to be substituted after he ‘felt something’, but gave no further specifics on the character of the potential injury.
Nevertheless, the Liverpool boss has now confirmed that Salah will probably be unavailable for Saturday’s trip right down to the south coast.
‘It’s unusual, and because of this of that, I feel you’ll be able to expect the end result so not available for tomorrow,’ the Dutchman confirmed.
Asked concerning the extent of the injury, Slot added: ‘The nice thing for Liverpool, for us is that we go into a global break.

‘The bad thing for Egypt is that he can’t go there, but we hope also with what Mo has shown previously that he can get well faster than what other players might in similar situations because he just takes such excellent care of his body, and history has shown that he may be back sooner than others.
‘But it surely’s only two weeks until we go again so let’s hope by that point he may be back.’
Slot also confirmed that Joe Gomez won’t be available to begin after being benched in midweek against Galatasaray.
‘Joe wasn’t in a position to are available, we tried to postpone it as often we could [against Galatasaray], perhaps a miracle can occur I told him if needed him in additional time, Slot said.
‘He is perhaps available tomorrow but not to begin.’
