When Chad Gable first began appearing under his masked luchador persona, El Grande Americano, he occasionally showed up as each characters on WWE programming. Nonetheless, since returning to the ring because the “Original” El Grande Americano, Gable has not appeared on WWE television as himself.
During a recent Fightful Select Q&A, a fan asked about Gable’s absence from TV in his usual persona. It is claimed that WWE’s creative team has deliberately delayed Gable’s return as himself, desiring to use it as part of a bigger storyline. At the moment, there’s no confirmed timeline for when he’ll reappear as Chad Gable.
On last Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, El Grande Americano 2 (Ludwig Kaiser) defeated the Original El Grande Americano in singles motion. Just days earlier, each competitors also took part within the Rey de Reyes 2026 Final 4 Way at AAA’s Rey de Reyes event, where Americano 2 secured the victory after interference from Rayo and Bravo, who handcuffed the unique. La Parka and Santos Escobar were also involved within the match.
Gable was originally written off WWE television on June 23, 2025, following a legitimate injury angle on RAW. In a backstage segment, he confronted PENTA, who responded by shoving him, landing a superkick, and ending him off with the Sacrifice. Kaiser made his return during that segment, watching the attack unfold.
The next week, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce wished Gable well as he prepared for surgery and questioned whether fans would see El Grande Americano again. Gable cryptically replied that Americano keeps a busy schedule, leaving things uncertain.
Later that very same night, Kaiser debuted as the brand new El Grande Americano. When asked for a response, Ivy Nile declined to comment.
For now, Gable and Kaiser remain at odds, with their competing El Grande Americano identities continuing to fuel an unresolved rivalry.
