Chelsea’s hopes of Champions League qualification took one other significant dent following a 3-0 defeat at Everton.

Liam Rosenior’s side were hammered in midweek by PSG and were hoping to supply an fast response on their first visit to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

As an alternative, they bumped into an in-form Everton side who, themselves, are actually eyeing up a top five finish.

The Toffees dominated the primary half but had to attend until the thirty third minute to interrupt the deadlock when Beto capitalised on James Garner’s superb pass and dinked the ball over Robert Sanchez.

Liam Rosenior made a change on the break however the introduction of Alejandro Garnacho failed to alter the momentum of the sport and it was little surprise when Beto doubled Everton’s lead just past the hour mark.

Iliman Ndiaye was a thorn in Chelsea’s side throughout and he got a deserved goal with 14 minutes remaining to place the cherry on the cake.
