Glenn Hoddle believes Wesley Fofana was ‘lower than Chelsea’s standard’ of their 3-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday.
Two goals from Beto and an excellent strike from Iliman Ndiaye sealed a deserved win for Everton, leaving Chelsea with 4 consecutive losses in all competitions.
Fofana was caught out for each of Beto’s goals on the Hill Dickinson Stadium and Hoddle says Chelsea’s £70 million signing ‘has got to actually have a look at himself’.
‘It’s not by probability, we analysed it at half time, Fofana in the primary couple of minutes gave the ball away after which he goes past the ball and Everton should really have scored then,’ Hoddle told Premier League Productions.
‘So he’s set his tone in his game, defensively, really poorly. That’s not a typical you’ll be able to have for those who’re a Chelsea player.

‘He’s got to actually have a look at himself and his overall performance because that’s the kind of thing that makes you hesitate.

‘When you’re not in sync, for those who’re not defending appropriately from the primary minute, it sets a pattern for the remainder of the sport and that’s how he played.’
Hoddle also believes Liam Rosenior’s decision to not play the identical centre-back pairing on a consistent basis has disrupted Chelsea.
‘Liam Rosenior has modified the back two or the back three and it’s not through injury,’ Hoddle said.
‘I at all times think for those who’re got a solid two centre-backs, or a back three, in the event that they play consistently together you change into a unit, you change into a unit throughout the team unit, and also you change into so tight, trust one another, play off one another, and also you get instincts of when someone will go and defend, when someone will cover.

‘That’s not happening with Chelsea, they’re changing so again and again, you don’t get that continuity in any respect and there’s not that feeling.
‘They feel fragile, they give the impression of being fragile. They actually began today very fragile defensively.
‘I feel it’s time for Chelsea to not look outwards, to look inside themselves and say these performances are nowhere near ok.
‘I saw them, I covered the sport in Paris Saint-Germain, they were good for 60 mins and so they were going toe to toe with of the very best teams in Europe, after which suddenly it just fell apart, a little bit bit how they began today.
‘They’ve these moments and so they haven’t got that consistency, they haven’t got that have, they missed Reece James in there today, pulling people about and saying, ‘that’s not ok’. They’re the kind of things, they need a player, they haven’t got that have there for any individual to dig them out whilst they’re on the pitch when it’s needed.
‘That’s why you’re seeing this inconsistency. They’ve got to look inside themselves to enhance the performances after which get the outcomes.’
