The Quebec director Thomas Soto has announced that the biopic is officially within the works.
Georges St-Pierre last fought in MMA nine years ago when he returned to the UFC for a middleweight title fight against Michael Bisping.
The Canadian legend went on to select up the third round submission win, adding his name to the list of fighters to have won a title in two different weight classes.

St-Pierre is widely thought to be one in every of, if not probably the most model skilled the game has ever seen.
And with that, it gave the impression of it was only a matter of time before it was announced that there was a movie being made about his profession and life story.
This Tuesday afternoon, it was revealed in a press release that Quebec film director Thomas Soto will lead the GSP biopic, with the project led by executive producers, Brandon St-Jacques and Jean-Christophe Pelchat.
The biopic will trace St-Pierre’s journey in Saint-Isidore, Quebec, to becoming one of the dominant and revered champions in UFC history.
“Now we have been considering telling my story for a moment now, and once we found this team, it was clear to us that we wanted this to be told in a brand new creative way,” St-Pierre said.
“I need to inform the story of Georges behind GSP in a way that feels intimate, honest and deeply human. To me, bringing that story to the world is each a privilege and a responsibility,” Soto said.
The project is currently within the works with development, casting and production timelines to be announced.
Last 12 months, ‘The Smashing Machine’ hit the screens which was a biopic of the lifetime of Mark Kerr, and it received several Oscar nominations.
Soto and his team of directors can be hoping to see the same success with their GSP biopic, which can likely captivate all the MMA world.
