Michael Page’s stock seems to have taken successful despite having his hand raised at UFC London last Saturday.
‘MVP’ was amongst the most important names who took to the Octagon on the UFC’s latest trip across the pond in England’s capital.
Before the major and co-main events, Page defeated Sam Patterson in a widely criticized bout. Joe Rogan even called it the worst fight of all time other than Derrick Lewis’ 2018 win over Francis Ngannou.
Page has been getting loads of the blame, having had other lackluster performances within the UFC since signing from Bellator MMA. With that, some consider it’s time for him to explore other options.

Fans split on whether Michael ‘Venom’ Page should stay within the UFC
Bloody Elbow readers have been engaging in a TalkingPoints discussion about Page’s latest victory at UFC London, prompted by the instruction, “Change my mind: Michael ‘Venom’ Page could be higher off outside of the UFC… Should MVP be released?”
Over 100 fans responded, a few of whom were lower than pleased with the Brit’s latest UFC fight and consider higher things lie outside of the Octagon for Page.
Plenty of responses got here from users on the TalkingPoints platform.
“His age, that loss, no impact within the UFC, yes,” edmond8084 wrote.
“He bashes the corporate that he works for and produces a STINKER!!! Yes MVP should go fight for MVP,” ade4michael suggested.
“Definitely he needs to be released. There are other options for skill, personality and watchability, and there are latest fighters coming along day by day,” getvickiwatson commented.
“When he began talking about fighter pay, I assumed that comment would backfire eventually. The UFC and Dana don’t like that style of talk. They like yes men and are inclined to hold grudges against individuals who speak their minds. Have a look at guys like Randy Couture, Francis Ngannou and Mark Hunt for prime examples of this,” dr.cheyno identified.
Fans also gave their verdicts through the Bloody Elbow social media channels, where plenty agreed that Page’s time needs to be up within the UFC.
“Netflix would pay him 5x the cash.”
“5 UFC fights, 5 decisions, 1 loss to a high-level guy. The one high-level guy he’s needed to fight. I believe he should retire for his legacy.”
“He belongs in BKFC.”
“Well, he was not fighting. He didn’t perform. It was ridiculous. He’s not willing to step out of his comfort zone, he shouldn’t be within the cage!! Bye!!”
“Yes, he is just not the MVP like before.”
“Karate Combat.”
“Such a waste… UFC is absolutely doing him dirty.”
The Londoner was not without some support, nonetheless. Many still need to see more of ‘MVP’ contained in the Octagon.
“I’m not mad at him. UFC gave him a can and he coasted to a W. Are we just forgetting he beat (Kevin) Holland? Beat (Jared) Cannioner?”
“Just don’t put in there along with his training partners.”
“It will be the UFC’s loss. People complaining about him dancing and never ending anybody, but they put him in there with individuals who just can’t touch him. What’s he gonna do? Take unnecessary damage for the fight to be ‘good’?”
“Give him one other fight…then determine.”
“Did Izzy (Israel Adesanya) get released after fighting (Yoel) Romero? It takes two to tango. In case your opponent is hesitant to strike, it is going to naturally make your job harder as a counter striker. Matchups make good fights.”
“He has had some boring fights but you possibly can’t let a 5-1 fighter go.”
“They need to give him a worthy opponent. Dude is mad talented.”

What would the Bloody Elbow staff do with Michael ‘Venom’ Page after UFC London?
The Bloody Elbow staff also gave their takes on Michael Page’s future after a disappointing battle with Patterson moved the Brit to 5-1 within the UFC.
A well-recognized sentiment emerged regarding whether ‘MVP’ will probably be booked appropriately by the UFC in comparison with if he was competing under the banners of other organizations.
Harvey Leonard: “By way of should he be cut due to that performance, absolutely not. But at this point in his profession, there are higher things for him away from the UFC. They won’t book him appropriately.”
Kyle Dimond: “Hard to argue with! I’m still an MVP fan but it surely feels unlikely that the UFC are going to provide him the fights he wants after how this played out.”
Jamie Theodosi: “The way in which the UFC has been handling their talent recently, I actually wouldn’t be surprised to see MVP cut, especially after he went off on fighter pay after which dropped an all-time stinker. I believe the connection is tethered and perhaps he’d be higher picking up paydays in Karate Combat or something.”
Jordan Ellis: “Hmm I still think he’s a top level fighter, that was only a bizarre matchup.”
Since his London win, Page has revealed that he has only one fight remaining on his current UFC deal, meaning an exit might be upcoming should the promotion opt against re-signing the ex-Bellator title challenger.
