Not A Threequel But Aditya Dhar Should Deliver Sensible Prequel With A Spy Universe Indian Cinema Actually Needs [Opinion]

Dhurandhar 3: Not A Threequel Indian Cinema Needs A Sensible Spy Universe With A Prequel! (Photo Credit –Jio Studios)

While the box office is currently vibrating with the Dhurandhar 2 vs Pushpa 2 mayhem, the chatter has already shifted to what’s next for Aditya Dhar. Will he lead the Dhurandhar franchise to a threequel? But my query is, can we really want a threequel to such a well-made two-part film? But guess what could work for this franchise? An excellent prequel resulting in what happened before Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The truth is, what happened way before all of this happened! The time when terrorism began infiltrating India with its motive to shatter us!

Now, before we proceed, let me inform you that this story will have a very powerful spoiler of the film. So if you may have not watched it yet, and plan to observe it on this lifetime, then don’t spoil your experience and leave! For the remaining of the lot, allow us to ponder over a really exciting prequel theory that may do wonders for this franchise!

Jameel Jamali & Ajay Sanyal’s Starting

In the event you ask my inner cinephile, who’s exhausted by formulaic franchises, we don’t need Dhurandhar 3. We want a Dhurandhar prequel that highlights the start of India’s most secretive mission to destroy terrorism. To be honest, the present Indian Spy Universes are beginning to feel a bit crowded. We’ve got the superstars, the cross-border romances, and the world-ending stakes that feel way too superficial. While they’re massive blockbusters, the ‘soul’ of a gritty, grounded spy thriller is certainly getting lost!

This is where Aditya Dhar is available in. The person who gave us Uri: The Surgical Strike knows mix patriotism with technical finesse without making it feel caricatured. The truth is, now that every one of us know that Rakesh Bedi’s Jameel Jamali is the actual Dhurandhar, all of us are curious about diving into his world!

Why a Prequel? Because Origins Are Higher Than Sequels

A prequel offers Aditya Dhar the prospect to construct a grounded Spy Universe, something that Indian Cinema desperately needs immediately. Indian cinema is craving a spy saga that deals with intelligence of the paperwork, the betrayals, the plannings, the silence before the storm, slightly than simply the slow-motion walks, chopper motion scenes, and foot tapping songs.

So it could be interesting to return to the story of Mission Dhurandhar, the way it began way before it officially began with the arrival of Rakesh Bedi‘s Jameel Jamali in Pakistan, and making his place as some of the essential politicians of Lyari. We’d also like to see Gaurav Gera’s Aalam and Mustafa Ahmed’s Rizwan getting planted in Pakistan as Indian agents and their backstories.

Briefly, there is just too much to explore up to now to let it go! Imagine a 90s-set espionage thriller, stripping away modern gadgets and counting on total Dum and Dimaag. Wouldn’t or not it’s so far more ghatak to observe this drama unfold!

Not Avengers But Dhurandhars!

Aditya Dhar has the vision to maneuver away from the Avenger-ification of Indian cinema. By choosing a prequel, he can establish a Spy Universe that feels uniquely Indian, exciting, and real. So, dear Aditya Dhar, give us the “Dhurandhar Origins.” Give us the gritty, dark, and good prequel that sets a brand new gold standard. Because frankly, we’ve seen enough threequels; it’s time to return to the roots!
