Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson hit a towering six off legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan during a pre-IPL 2026 event. The shot got here in an exhibition match at CSK’s Roar event, which saw several former franchise stars in attendance, including Muralitharan, Dwayne Bravo, and others.
Samson went head-to-head with Muralitharan while MS Dhoni kept wickets. The CSK opener began cautiously before unleashing a robust hit that cleared the boundary. Dhoni also missed a stumping opportunity in the course of the over, giving Samson a priceless reprieve.

“He Can’t Do It All Alone”– Mohammad Kaif on Sanju Samson’s Role at CSK for IPL 2026
Ex-cricketer Mohammad Kaif recently analyzed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad ahead of IPL 2026 in a YouTube video. He suggested that the franchise is prone to persist with Ruturaj Gaikwad as captain in the intervening time, while giving Sanju Samson a while to settle into the team before assigning him additional responsibilities. He added:
“I don’t think CSK will make the error of giving Sanju Samson the captaincy immediately, because he has just joined.
