Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has aimed a dig at Liverpool after they were linked with a move for Michael Olise.
Liverpool are out there to switch Mohamed Salah this summer and reports this week have claimed that Olise is at the highest of the Premier League club’s shortlist.
Olise has been in sublime form for Bayern this season with 16 goals and 27 assists, while Vincent Kompany’s side remain in contention to win 4 trophies.
And Hoeness insists Bayern don’t have any intention of allowing the 24-year-old to hitch Liverpool in the summertime transfer window.
‘If that’s true… I don’t imagine it’s, but Liverpool spent 500 million this yr and are having a really bad season. So we won’t be contributing to them playing higher next yr,’ Hoeness said at an AI festival on Thursday.

‘We play this game for our fans. We now have 430,000 members, we’ve got many thousands and thousands of fans world wide, and it does them little good if we’ve got 200 million within the bank and play worse football every Saturday due to it.’

Speaking earlier this week, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl also dismissed the prospect of Olise leaving the club at the top of the season.
‘Michael has a contract with us until 2029, with no release clause – we’re relaxed,’ Eberl told Sport Bild.
