Reunion Early Steam Reviews Are Stronger Than Double Exposure

Life is Strange: Reunion launched yesterday, but there wasn’t much fanfare. Many fans have commented on the discharge sneaking up on them, complaining about an absence of promoting and the surprisingly quick turnaround after Double Exposure.

What doesn’t help matters is the dearth of reviews. Outlets reminiscent of ours were either offered codes at launch or so near launch that a review can be inconceivable. While this definitely is not unheard of (Baldur’s Gate 3 codes got here in three days before launch, and Silksong codes weren’t available pre-launch in any respect), this was completely unexpected for Life is Strange.

Now, if early user scores are anything to go by, it looks like Reunion may very well be an improvement on Double Exposure. Steam reviews are currently averaging out at “very positive”. That is up from Double Exposure, which was met with “mixed” reviews, with complaints in regards to the story and the way it handled Max and Chloe’s past relationship.

Life Is Strange Fans Appear To Be Having fun with Reunion So Far

Immediately, lots of the positive reviews are from those that clearly desired to see Max and Chloe together and hated Double Exposure for breaking them up.

“one hundred pc higher than Double Exposure,” reads one review. “You do not even must play that game to grasp this game. They perfectly recap what happened within the last game since the game doesn’t even want you to play it. Devs clearly listened that they are sorry for mistreating fans [by] doing Max/Chloe dirty within the previous game.”

Many other pricefield shippers make this point. “Retroactively makes Double Exposure a lot better because it’s now part 1 of a duology with Reunion,” one other says. “It is a game made for Pricefielders.”

However, the negative reviews come from those that enjoyed Double Exposure and are upset to see Reunion ignore a lot of it. “Literally Nostalgia slop for Chloe x Max fandom,” a negative reviewer says.

Others complain about performance issues, although some say it was just wonderful on their PC, so be mindful of the specifications.

Over on console, Reunion is happening with fans even higher. It has a rating of 4.83 out of 5 on the PlayStation store, which can also be an improvement from the last game.

Still, we’re waiting on the reviews from critics so we will see what the Metacritic rating finally ends up looking like. Up to now, the series rating is:

  1. Life is Strange – 85
  2. Life is Strange: True Colors – 81
  3. Life is Strange 2 – 78
  4. Life is Strange: Before the Storm – 77
  5. Life is Strange: Double Exposure – 73
