Savannah Guthrie’s first sit-down interview following mom Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance was an emotional one.
Savannah, 54, returned to Today for the three-part conversation with former colleague Hoda Kotb, which began airing on Wednesday, March 25. The ladies shed tears as they discussed the continued seek for 84-year-old Nancy, who went missing from her Arizona home on February 1.
“Someone must do the best thing. We’re in agony. … It’s unbearable,” Savannah said on Wednesday. “And to think about what she went through. I get up every night in the midst of the night. Every night. And within the darkness, I imagine her terror. And it’s unthinkable.”
Authorities have yet to call a suspect in her disappearance. Nevertheless, the FBI released a series of photos and videos of an individual wearing an all-black outfit, including a face covering, which were captured on Nancy’s doorbell camera the night she went missing.
Savannah and her family proceed to release statements, asking anyone who might need any information to return forward.
“She needs to return home now,” Savannah told Kotb on Wednesday.
Throughout the second a part of the interview, released on Thursday, March 26, Savannah said she’s still leaning on her “strong and resolute” faith. She’s also still speaking about her mom within the “present tense.”
“My mom is incredible. She’s resolute and robust, quiet strength. Quiet faith, but hard-fought. She’s funny and just a little mischievous, I might say, in her humor,” Savannah said. “She’s a noble creature, she does what’s right. She walks in faith, but not fake, pious, put-on faith.”

How Did Savannah Guthrie Find Out Mom Nancy Was Missing?
Savannah received a call from her sister, Annie Guthrie, who said, “Mom’s missing.” The day was stuffed with “chaos and disbelief,” she recalled.
“She was in a panic, I used to be in a panic,” Savannah continued. “We thought that she should have had some sort of medical episode within the night and by some means the paramedics had come, since the back doors were propped open and that didn’t make any sense.”
From the very “early moments” of Nancy’s disappearance, the family knew something was unsuitable.
“She will be able to’t wander off. My mom, she was in tremendous pain, her back was very bad. On a great day, she could walk all the way down to the mailbox and get the mail, but most days not,” Savannah said. “There was no ‘wander off.’ The doors were propped open, and there was blood on the front doorstep. The Ring camera had been yanked off. And so we were saying, ‘This shouldn’t be OK.’”

Savannah got emotional wondering whether Nancy’s kidnapping was due to her fame.
“Truthfully, we don’t know anything. We don’t know anything. So, I don’t know that it’s because she’s my mom and any person thought, ‘Oh, that lady has money, we will make a fast buck,’” she added. “That will make sense, but we don’t know. … It’s just an excessive amount of to bear to think that I brought this to her bedside. That it’s due to me. I actually have to say, I’m so sorry, Mommy.”
Savannah Guthrie Has Support From Her Family
Savannah said that she and her “amazing” siblings, Annie and Camron, are “a unit.”
“We got here along with all these beautiful gifts that got here from our mom and pop and from God, and by some means together we did our greatest to give you the words to say [in our video],” she shared. “I haven’t posted one thing or said one thing that the three of us haven’t decided together.”
Savannah and husband Michael Feldman try to present their kids, Vale, 11 and Charley, 9, “just a little more certainty than now we have” when updating them on the situation.
“It’s so hard with kids,” she explained. “You need to protect them.”
The Truth In regards to the Ransom Notes
Savannah confirmed that there have been “different notes” that got here through.
“Most of them, it’s my understanding, I believe should not real. I didn’t see them. An individual that might send a fake ransom note really has to look deeply at themselves,” she added. “But I consider the 2 notes that we received that we responded to — I are inclined to consider those are real.”
Because the investigation continues, Savannah said that she has moved houses “persistently” because people should not “respectful” of what’s happening to her family.
What Was Savannah Guthrie’s Response to Doorbell Camera Video From Nancy’s Kidnapping?
The Today anchor said the video is “absolutely terrifying” to look at.
“I’m glad and grateful to the investigators and the technology corporations that were capable of find that video,” Savannah said. “So, I hope at the least with people of excellent heart and compassion stop the irresponsible and cruel speculation that had began to swirl. I’m glad that folks saw what got here to our door.”
She also said there are “no words” for the rumors that her family was involved in Nancy’s disappearance.
“I don’t understand, I’ll never understand. And nobody took higher care of my mom than my sister and my brother-in-law,” she added. “Nobody protected my mom greater than my brother. We love her, and he or she is our shining light. She is our matriarch. She’s all now we have.”
Savannah didn’t say much in regards to the ongoing investigation but noted that the family needs “answers” about Nancy’s whereabouts.
“We can’t be at peace without knowing,” she explained. “And someone can do the best thing. And it isn’t too late to do the best thing. Our hearts are focused on that.”
