Arman Tsarukyan claims he’s backup for UFC White House title fight as he reveals return date

Arman Tsarukyan continued his combat sports takeover outside of the UFC this past Saturday.

Having not competed within the UFC since last November, ‘Ahalkalakets’ has been staying lively by competing in wrestling and grappling.

This past Saturday, he made one other appearance on the Real American Freestyle wrestling mats when he rematched Georgio Poullas in an epic grudge rematch.

Arman Tsarukyan went on to attain the win, finally putting his rivalry with Poullas behind him, now turning his attention back to the UFC.

Tsarukyan claims he will probably be backup for Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje

Earlier this month, the Armenian offered to save lots of the featherweight division and be the following fighter to challenge Alexander Volkanovski for the title.

Despite his offer, though, it’s unlikely that the promotion would allow him to compete at 145lbs considering the undeniable fact that he had weight issues resulting in him pulling out of his 155lb title fight against Islam Makhachev.

In the course of the RAF 7 post-fight press conference on Saturday, the 29-year-old claimed that he will probably be the backup for the upcoming lightweight title fight between Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje.

“So (Topuria) has a fight coming up and now he’s saying, ‘yeah, if the UFC tell me, I’ll fight Arman’ but he has a fight coming up, I’m a backup for that fight, I’m gonna be ready if something happens and I’m gonna stay lively,” he said.

“Possibly I’m gonna do RAF next month or perhaps in May so we’ll see when Colby Covington is prepared, when he’s gonna be done along with his drinking beer and laying down on the beach.”

Ahead of each of their matches at RAF 7, Covington shared some words about Tsarukyan, claiming that he used to ‘beat up’ Tsarukyan in training.

When he was leaving the world following the night, ‘Ahalkalakets’ was caught chatting with The Schmo, and he revealed that he will probably be fighting for a UFC title in the summertime, regardless of what.

“This summer (I’ll return to the UFC), this summer I’ll fight of course, for the belt, any belt. Whether it’s BMF or an actual belt.”

Tsarukyan has been linked to a rematch against Charles Oliveira considering the undeniable fact that ‘Do Bronx’ now has the BMF title.

With the 29-year-old seemingly still within the UFC’s bad books, he may potentially be given the possibility to weigh-in as a backup for the UFC White House principal event to make up from his wrongdoings.
