The Fourth Period: The Detroit Red Wings could sign two drafted players out of school when their seasons are over – goaltender Trey Augustine of Michigan State and Max Pante of Minnesota-Duluth. It’s believed the Red Wings have an entry-level contract offer ready for Augustine.

Augustine was drafted within the second round, forty first overall within the 2023 NHL Draft. Plante was drafted within the second round, forty seventh overall of the 2024 NHL draft.
