Jas Mathur disputes Floyd Mayweather’s recent comments and descriptions contract breaches for Manny Pacquiao rematch

On April 1, Manny Pacquiao’s team denied Floyd Mayweather’s recent comments about their rematch not having a location secured and it being an exhibition bout.

Jas Mathur, the CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, told ESPN that while the fight remains to be on, Mayweather’s comments are a breach of his contract.

“There isn’t any termination of any sort, and he has signed for knowledgeable fight,” Mathur said. “Floyd Mayweather is officially in breach of his contract. He’s been in a breach for the reason that day he went out and said what he said on Saturday and he’s officially in a breach as of yesterday.”

He added that the American’s team remains to be pushing for the fight to be an exhibition despite this and that a site visit to Sphere with each teams and Netflix has already taken place.

Mathur also said that ‘Money’ has already taken out an advance on his purse for the rematch after the likes of Joe Rogan suggested that Mayweather’s comeback was resulting from financial issues.

On top of this, the CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions touched on Mayweather’s planned exhibition against Mike Zambidis in June, stating that this can also be a breach of contract.

“We put this together to placed on something that the fans would love and can be an enormous sports event,” Mathur told ESPN. “We desired to do something that makes history and he [Mayweather] wants to return around and check out to alter terms last minute because he thinks he can. No, he can’t. Not happening.”
