For the past few months, WWE’s insane ticket prices have been all the craze. Fans and even wrestling legends have been vocal in regards to the skyrocketing prices. Amid all this, one AEW star took a jab at WWE.
Kenny Omega On AEW Vs. WWE Ticket Prices
In a recent interview with CBC News, Kenny Omega compared AEW’s ticket prices to WWE’s. He said,
“We’re type of like the choice, not quite WWE, and we’re not an indie either. We’re just form of AEW. What we attempt to be is probably the most fun live show you could watch, available to you. I do think that for family-friendly shows – mostly family-friendly – ticket prices are absolutely friendly. And we never skimp on the content. You’ll at all times get a ton of wrestling in your money value.”
“I even think we’re getting a double-taping in Winnipeg. So you might be getting a complete heck of lots of AEW, and also you’re not having to mortgage your first house or dump your first child. And that’s not a knock on some other promotion or anything, it’s just that if you must try a television product, see yourself on TV, have a good time, see what makes AEW so special, you possibly can do it, and you possibly can do it at a reasonable price.”
“I’m just really glad that if there’s any interest in anyway, whether it’s since you’re a die-hard AEW fan, or you simply wanna exit and take a look at an evening of wrestling and do something fun with the family or friends, I’m glad that there’s price point options available for all walks of life. That’s one thing that I’m very pleased with with AEW.”
Omega On His Recovery Journey And Future
In the course of the interview, Omega also opened up about taking a possible backstage role at AEW. He said,
“I believe an enormous a part of it, which helped me so much on this journey, was that I used to be at peace with having the ability to take an enormous step back if I needed to. If I needed to have a very non-physical role inside the company and just be an office guy within the back that’s never seen but remains to be contributing, I used to be glad to have just been involved with this project that’s AEW, with this company, with its wonderful fans, its athletes.”
“I believe that having that sense of calmness and having the ability to accept the present situation actually helped me recommend more of an effort within the pursuit of getting back what I lost. Because I feel like if I used to be in a panic mode, I’d have run around like a chicken with its head cut off, not knowing whether to go left, whether to go right, should I try something recent, or should I keep doubling down on what I’m currently doing?”
“I believe just being honest with myself on this case, and just being very open minded to not only the incontrovertible fact that things may match if I try something recent, but in the event that they don’t work, to have the option to just accept, ‘Okay, I’ve tried all the pieces that I could, I can’t say that I didn’t try, let’s see what’s next.’ But having the ability to have this smorgasbord of options for me to have available – especially with current day medical science, supplementation and all that – there are all this stuff that I never had access to years and years and years ago, that are absolutely needless to say helping me in today’s world, with information, energy, all that stuff.”
