A serious brawl broke out amongst a bunch of spectators through the IPL 2026 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals on the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, April 1. A video of the incident has since gone viral, showing fans exchanging blows while fellow spectators and police officials stepped in to manage the situation.

Speaking in regards to the match, after being put in to bat, Lucknow Super Giants were dismissed for 141 in 18.4 overs, with Mitchell Marsh (35 off 28) and Abdul Samad (36 off 25) contributing essentially the most. For the visitors, Lungi Ngidi and T. Natarajan claimed three wickets each.
In reply, Delhi Capitals stumbled early, losing 4 wickets for just 26 runs. Nonetheless, Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs turned things around with an unbeaten 119-run stand off 76 balls for the fifth wicket.
Rizvi finished unbeaten on 70 off 47, while Stubbs remained not out on 39 off 32, guiding DC to a six-wicket victory with 17 balls remaining.

Delhi Capitals middle-order batter Sameer Rizvi was awarded Player of the Match for his unbeaten 70 against Lucknow Super Giants. Speaking on the post-match presentation, he revealed that he had been told he would bat at No. 4 and had received strong backing from the coaching staff. He said (as quoted by ESPNcricinfo):
“During practice sessions and matches, I used to be told I’ll bat at 4 and was given quite a lot of support by the coaches. Playing at home, the conditions and that helped as my state league takes place here. I desired to be positive within the powerplay but two wickets fell and the situation modified, Stubbs said respect the conditions.”
“Once we were set, we knew we could play our natural game. It’s not that I began hitting after attending to fifty. I desired to tackle bad balls, if I got it I’d hit it to the boundary.”
