EXCLUSIVE: Iqbal Khan Opens Up On Profession Struggles, Flop Movies After Shifting To Mumbai; Says, “Mujhe Laga Aate Hi Shah Rukh Khan Ban Jaaunga”

Iqbal Khan’s journey within the entertainment industry didn’t follow the dream script he once imagined. After starting out with movies like Fun2shh (2003) and Bullet: Ek Dhamaka (2005), each of which did not make an impact, he found himself at a crossroads early in his profession. It was television, and his breakout role as Angad Khanna in Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai, that modified every thing, turning him into an overnight star. But behind that success lies a story of setbacks, self-realisation, and unexpected second probabilities. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Iqbal Khan spoke about failure, persistence, and what a second probability truly means. Read on to know what he needed to say.

Iqbal Khan Opens Up On Profession Struggles, Flop Movies After Shifting To Mumbai

Speaking about whether the industry truly offers second probabilities, Iqbal Khan shared a nuanced perspective. He said, “Har ek probability joh aapko milta hai, woh second probability hi hota hai. Chahe woh third ho, fourth ho, fifth ho, joh bhi ho, woh aapke liye second probability hi hai. Jismein aapko samajh aa jaaye na, finally. Woh hota hai second probability. Jab tak nahi samajh aata, woh second probability nahi hota. Tab tak aap usmein seekh hi rahe hote ho,” highlighting how growth and understanding define the actual turning point, not the variety of opportunities.

Iqbal then recalled his early days in Mumbai and the cruel reality that followed his initial optimism. Like many newcomers, he arrived with big dreams but faced immediate setbacks. “Important toh jab Bombay shift hua tha, toh mujhe aisa lag raha tha ki shayad predominant aate hi Shah Rukh Khan ban jaaunga. Joh har koi shift hota hai, usko aisa lagta hai ki ho jaata hai. Lekin pehle aisa kuch hua nahi. Aur maine joh joh filmon se shuruaat ki thi, woh chali nahi. Dono filmein nahi chali, to mujhe aisa laga tha ki shayad ab wapas jaana padega,” he admitted, underlining the uncertainty that followed his early film failures.

Nevertheless, things took a turn when television got here his way, even when it was initially only a practical decision. He shared how Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai became a life-changing opportunity, despite his taking it up simply to get by. “Lekin phir aisa nahi hua. Phir maine joh mera pehla television show tha, joh Sony Entertainment Television ke liye kiya tha, Kaisa Hai Pyaar Hai, woh shuru hua. Halaanki woh maine sirf isliye kiya tha ki chalo thoda agle mahine ka rent manage ho jaayega. Us chakkar mein maine woh kiya. Definitely predominant usse ek second probability kehna chahunga, kyunki uski wajah se zindagi kaafi badal gayi,” he said.

Reflecting further, Iqbal spoke about his lack of preparation and the teachings that followed. He admitted that confidence without grounding didn’t help him initially. He said, “Maine to kuch taiyaari nahi ki thi aane se pehle. Bilkul kuch nahi. Important bahut zyada confident tha ki predominant jab aaunga idhar, toh aate hi cheezein ho jaayengi. Woh jab nahi hui, tab pata chala ki kya hota hai. Lekin nahi hone mein bhi ek bahut bada raaz chhupa hota hai, kyunki upar waale ko aapko bahut saari cheezein sikhani hoti hain. Zindagi mein guzarna hi woh ek cheez hoti hai jismein aap seekhte hain. Sab kuch mil jaane se to aadmi seekhta nahi.”

Iqbal Khan’s journey reflects a transparent truth concerning the industry and life itself: success rarely arrives in a straight line. As a substitute, it comes through setbacks, learning, and persistence. For him, every opportunity carried the potential of a ‘second probability,’ but only when it brought clarity and growth. His story stands as a reminder that failure will not be the tip; it often sets the stage for the moment that changes every thing.
