MANILA, Philippines—NLEX surged ahead within the fourth quarter en path to its fourth win within the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on the expense of Phoenix, 120-102, at Araneta Coliseum on Easter Sunday.
The Road Warriors remained within the upper echelon with a 4-1 record, just behind league-leader Rain or Shine (4-0).
“It showed in the sport that they share the ball more, they know who to go to and that’s just through practice,” coach Jong Uichico said.

After three quarters, the Fuel Masters stayed inside step of the Road Warriors, down by only seven.
Nonetheless, NLEX caught fire and dropped 41 points within the payoff period and ultimately left Phoenix within the dust.
The Road Warriors went perfect from the three-point area in the ultimate frame, sinking all of their seven shots.
Kevin Alas led the fourth quarter charge, where he scored 16 of his 18 points .
“[It’s a] team effort. All my teammates are great they usually’re the rationale for this win so credit to them,” Robert Bolick said after dropping a double-double of twenty-two points and 14 assists within the dub.
“Our chemistry is great and we play as a team. A whole lot of us scored in double digits and we’re just so fun to observe contained in the court,” he added.
Cady Lalanne dominated within the paint with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Schonny Winston and Tony Semerad also finished with 16 and 15 points, respectively, within the victory.
Phoenix, meanwhile, dropped to 3-2. Ricci Rivero scored 20 within the loss, while James Dickey had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
