Pat McAfee’s role within the WrestleMania 42 storyline involving Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton has reportedly led to some concern amongst WWE talent, in accordance with a report from Pwinsider.
Per the report, quite a few performers feel that the Rhodes vs. Orton feud already carried sufficient history and depth by itself, making McAfee’s addition seem unnecessary. Some throughout the locker room reportedly questioned the choice, believing the match didn’t require an additional layer to boost it.
It was also noted in prior reports that McAfee’s involvement was directed by top executives inside TKO Group Holdings, reasonably than WWE’s usual creative leadership under Triple H.
McAfee’s recent appearance on WWE SmackDown, where he delivered an unscripted promo tied to the feud, reportedly drew mixed reactions backstage. Some talent were said to be unhappy with each the content of the segment and the way it fit into the continuing WrestleMania construct.
