SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi Plot Leaked Online?
The storyline of Priyanka Chopra, Mahesh Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s upcoming film Varanasi has surfaced online, making a buzz. A VFX company related to SS Rajamouli’s project shared a temporary synopsis on its website, without disclosing major plot points.
The synopsis on Cine Site’s website reads, “A Shiva devotee embarks on a deadly quest across time to uncover a lost cosmic artefact of immense power. As he pieces together ancient secrets hidden through centuries, he realises the reality behind his mission—the very force that set him on this path is a calculating mastermind with a vision of absolute global domination. Perpetually. Unveiled.”
Varanasi Likely To Be Split Into Two Parts
Meanwhile, in accordance with a report by Bollywood Hungama, the ambitious action-adventure could also be released in two parts to do justice to its storytelling. If confirmed, this strategy can be just like the format Rajamouli utilized in Baahubali, which redefined large-scale filmmaking and popularised multi-part franchises.
A source acquainted with the event told the publication, “Three hours-plus wouldn’t be enough for Varanasi. They’re extending it right into a two-part format.” The source added, “Rajamouli and his team feel this prolonged format would afford them the freedom to inform a more expanded story without looking anxiously on the clock.”
DYK? Varanasi Wasn’t Shot In Its Actual Location
Although the narrative is about in Varanasi, filming is just not happening within the actual city. As an alternative, the makers have recreated an in depth version of Varanasi in Hyderabad, constructing massive sets to reflect the film’s setting authentically. Reports suggest that structures like a reproduction of the Ratneshwar Mahadev temple have been built for this purpose.
Moreover, a full-scale temple has been erected for sequences set prior to now. It will later be submerged underwater to depict scenes from the current timeline. Meanwhile, the film has been shot extensively across Hyderabad, Odisha, and Kenya. With an estimated budget of Rs 1,000–1,300 crore, Varanasi is poised to be probably the most expensive Indian movies ever made. Furthermore, the Priyanka Chopra starrer is slated for a theatrical release in April 2027.
